Calendar Reasoning

Calendar reasoning questions ask for a day of the week a certain number of days before or after a known date. Because the week repeats every 7 days, only the remainder after dividing by 7 matters — leap years add one extra consideration when a full year is involved.

Common patterns

Worked example

Question: Today is Wednesday. What day will it be after 17 days?

Answer: Saturday

17 days is 2 full weeks plus 3 extra days; 3 days after Wednesday is Saturday.
